How To Make Bokeh
These photos were taken with the Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens at F1.8. Christmas lights were hung with a red blanket as the background. First photo is "focused" while the second photo is "unfocused." Unfocused Christmas lights appear as bokeh "bubbles", and, depending on your lens's aperture and vignetting, can also appear as hexagons, etc.
This techniques does work best with apertures wider F2.0. With apertures narrower than F3.5, you would have to increase the distance between the camera and light source significantly.

Yes, you like that. It's easy to do bokeh. It's playful. You can also play with your craft punch (love, dog, star, etc). You'll like it or addicted to.
